{Engaged} Erika & Jude

Another Saturday and another stunning couple, I am so lucky!  Erika and Jude are one of those couples that are clearly meant to be together.  They actually grew up half a mile from each other, however they never met until they both moved to the DC area.  From that moment on they've been together.  These two are a blast to hang out with and I can easily see why they work together so well.

Jude has some of the bluest eyes I've ever seen, it's no wonder Erika fell for him instantly.

I think this is one of the sweetest pictures I've ever taken, it's a little preview of growing old together.

When they finally met it happened at a holiday event at the Air and Space Museum, so of course we had to stop by to reminisce.

Congratulations on your engagement Erika & Jude!
I know your wedding be full of love and happiness!

{Engaged} Jillian & Steve

Most sessions I do take place first thing in the morning to catch that early morning glow, so I was really excited when Jillian said she wanted to try for a sunset session which I don't get to do very often.  She and Steve really wanted some column pictures by the Jeffereson Memorial so we started our session there.

These two told me they would need a lot of coaching with poses and expressions, however I found them to be very natural in front of the camera.

As we were walking to the parking lot near the memorial we came upon this beautiful secluded area with lovely flowers and benches, and it didn't hurt that the light was shining on it just right.

One of my favorite things about the tidal basin is the gorgeous low hanging trees that create a little canopy over the sidewalk.

Again, over by the Capitol we found the cutest, secluded areas to stop and take some wonderful pictures.

This picture below is definitely in my top 5 favorite pictures I've taken.

Congratulations Jillian and Steve!  You will have a wonderful destination wedding!

{Engaged} Melissa & Nick

Melissa and Nick are one of those couples that just seem like they were made for each other.  They've traveled and been on amazing adventures together, including living abroad in Prague for a year, but they are also perfectly happy spending a lazy Sunday at home.  I was so happy to finally make our session happen, we kept trying to schedule to coincide with the Cherry Blossoms, but eventually we just decided to go for it peak bloom or not.  Luckily we got a beautiful day for our walk around DC.

There was a corner of the FDR memorial with one tree in full bloom, and the branches were hanging  down to create a perfect backdrop.

Before deciding to have their wedding in Prague, Melissa and Nick considered hosting it at the Jefferson Memorial, a favorite of theirs.

What is more DC than a metro ride?  We even managed to get an almost empty train car.

Nick really wanted a Darth Vadar picture, but watch out Nick, it looks like the force is strong with Melissa.

These lamp posts by the Capitol are almost exactly the same as the motif for their wedding.

We capped off a wonderful morning by walking through Eastern Market, followed by a fantastic brunch at Cava.  Congratulations Melissa and Nick, I know your wedding will absolutely amazing!

{Engaged} Becca & Brian

I am so excited to share this engagement session.  Becca is the super talented woman behind my logo, so when Brian proposed recently I was thrilled to have the chance to work with the two of them.

We started our morning over by the tidal basin, hoping to catch some cherry blossoms.  Unfortunately because of the chilly weather the blossoms weren't really blooming yet, but that didn't stop us from getting some wonderful pictures.

According to Brian this was the one time in his life when he was told to "touch noses" and he didn't even think twice about it.

I believe this is what you would call, too cool for school.

I have always wanted to take pictures at this carousel on the National Mall, and luckily Becca and Brian were completely up for the adventure.

Congratulations Becca and Brian!  I can't wait for your sure to be beautiful wedding!
